Tablets – the future?
More and more I find myself reaching for my tablet when it comes to work-related issues, to the point now where I’ll actually bring it to meetings and client site visits instead of my laptop. It was not always this way, initially, like a lot of people, I wrote off tablets as a fad that would soon burn out, how wrong I was. The reasons for this up-take in new technology are many, not least that Apple managed to package the tablet computer in a beautiful shell and work their marketing magic on it when they gave us the iPad! … Continue reading
Things I’m thinking of…
With the undeniable success that is Windows 7, Microsoft is ploughing full steam ahead with the next incarnation of Windows, imaginatively codenamed: Windows 8. The release of the Developer Preview has answered a few questions about new features, however there are already grumblings about the difficulty to use and the lack of support for legacy apps. With no direct experience of it though, I’m not going to second guess or deride it here, instead, I have a couple of ideas for the next step in Windows evolution that I hope Microsoft are either a) already thinking of or b) willing … Continue reading
Technology breakthroughs I can’t wait for.
If you think the past two decades have been amazing for technology, wait until you see what’s next. See the five hottest technologies that are on the way.

“Tape backups”, words that strike fear into the hearts of IT Managers. Ok, maybe not quite fear and more of a feeling of “Oh no, not again!” Hands up if the following has ever happened to you? You wake one morning to see rain hammering against the window, you pick up your mobile phone to turn off the alarm and have a quick read of any overnight emails, including the automated one from your backup solution. “What the? Back up failed? Oh no, I forgot to change out the tapes again!” You haven’t even got out of bed yet and … Continue reading

One dimensional: These refer to specific requirements that are requested by the client. If met the customer is happy, if … Continue reading
Eolas set for a world 1st on Windows 7 VDI!
It has been possible using other products to give Windows 7 desktops to users, however, Eolas has a newly developed platform that allows us to run Windows 7 desktops on a 64 bit Windows 2008 server.
